Organic Products & Raw Food Diet

Thankfully for those people thinking about eating natural, organic and raw foods. There are many of these items out there. Natural and organic foods use to be found just in health food shops and weekend farmers markets. While not as common as McDonald's, there are a lot more stand-alone stores that are now spring up that cater to people that like to use natural, organic and raw foods in their day to day cooking. The grocery chains are starting to catch up with more natural and organic selections than ever before. Look at the coffee area and you will probably see organic fair trade coffee as some of the selections. If you don't see them in your supermarket, just ask. You're probably not the only individual in your neighborhood who actually prefers to see more of these alternatives.

Finding Organic Foods

Lots of supermarket now include mushrooms, sprouts and other living foods in the fruit and vegetables aisle. Of course, if they don't, there's nothing much easier to grow on your own than vegetables, sprouts and herbs.

There are also tons of sites on the internet where you can order raw and living foods. Simply do a search on raw foods and you'll come up with a great deal of different locations to buy the foods you 'd like to purchase. Much of these sites are also loaded with useful details to help you learn more about consuming raw foods and help inform you on the specific food worth's as far as nutritional value. There is even ganoderma mushroom coffee which is known as healthy coffee.

What else? Try out exactly what you like. Put in the time to learn a little about exactly what the various nutrients in foods do for you.

A couple of examples:

1. Cabbage— High in Vitamin C; crucial for healthy cell function
2. Shitake mushrooms— include important fats and anti-oxidants to support a healthy body immune system
3. Kale— Rich in fiber and helps in reducing calorie consumption with less hunger. We like that!
4. Barley— Loaded with niacin, fiber and iron and is important for healthy blood glucose.
5. Pumpkin— So rich in fiber and vitamins; helps in reducing cravings by filling the stomach with indigestible fibers

Local Farmers Market

This list is just a start. Visit your local farmers market and you will see all types of healthy food. Ganoderma Mushrooms are very popular for natural cooking because of their great taste and being very healthy for you to eat. Many of the local farmers grow their vegetables and fruits the natural way and also do not use pesticides. There are 3 weekend farmers markets within 20 minutes of my house. My wife is always cooking with healthy food from these local farmers.
